Robert R. Price (Rob), CPA
Rob is a Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years of progressive assurance, accounting and consulting experience. He has broad experience providing these services to government contractors, technology companies and employee benefit plans. He also has experience providing merger and acquisition advice and due diligence support. Rob was named a "Super CPA" by Virginia Business Magazine for 2008 and 2007.
His experience includes consulting with closely-held government contractors from start-up to middle market regarding financial reporting and compliance matters. He has planned and directed financial statement audits and reviews of numerous government contractors and technology companies ranging in size from $50,000 to $200 million in revenue. He has planned and directed financial statement audits of employee benefit plans with net assets that ranged from approximately $1 million to $1 billion. He is familiar with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and the requirements of the Small Business Administration 8(a) program. Rob is focused on client service with extensive experience advising owners of closely-held businesses and Boards of Directors on how to comply with accounting and regulatory reporting requirements. He also works closely with owners and management of closely-held businesses, providing strategic advice to help them achieve their goals.
Prior to founding Price & Associates, LLC, Rob was a partner in the Greater Washington, D.C. office of Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, a top 30 regional accounting and consulting firm. Rob held several key positions in the office including lead technical audit partner for the office's Auditing and Accounting Practice and lead audit partner for the office's employee benefit plan practice. Additionally, Rob held several firm-wide positions. He was a member of the firm's: A&A practice group advisory committee, government contractor industry group, employee benefit plan industry group, peer review internal inspection team and of the firm's continuing professional education committee. He oversaw the development of the firm's audit programs specifically designed for government contractors. Rob also identified training needs and presented at training sessions, particularly related to the government contractor and employee benefit plan industries. Rob was with the regional accounting firm and its predecessor firm for 12 years. Prior to that, Rob was in the audit practices of a local firm and KPMG in the Washington, D.C. area for 8 and 3 years, respectively.
Rob received a B.S. in Accounting from George Mason University. He is a member of the American Institute of Cetified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA), and the Small and Emerging Contractor's Advisory Forum (SECAF).
